Obituary: William (Fred) Goodin, 66, Adair Co. KY native

He was a member of a large, highly regarded Northeast Adair County family. He lived most of his adult life in Louisville, KY, and was retired after 36 years at General Electric Appliance Park there

William "Fred" Goodin, age 66 years, of Louisville, KY, formerly of Columbia, the Millerfields, passed away Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010 at 3:30am at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville, KY after an illness.

The funeral service for Mr. William "Fred" Goodin will be Sunday, October 24, 2010 at 1pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. J. RIchard Lehman the officiating clergy. Interment in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty RD, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 2pmCT, Saturday, October 23, 2010, at the funeral home.



William "Fred" Goodin, Adair Co., KY (1944-2010)

He was born on Monday, May 22, 1944. He was the son of the late Elbert and Lois M. Holt Goodin of Adair Co., KY. He died Thursday, October 21, 2010, in Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY, at the age of 66 years, 4 months, and 29 days.

He is survived by his wife, Francine B. Goodin of Louisville, KY, and the following:
  • One daughter: Jessica Goodin Kriz of Louisville, KY

  • One son: Jamie Greenwell of Simpsonville, KY

  • Five brothers: Dr. Bob Goodin of Louisville, KY, Donnie Goodin of Louisville, KY, Dr. Dale Goodin of Versailles, KY, and Jerry Goodin and Terry Goodin of Columbia, KY

  • Two sisters: Linda Burton and Joyce Durham of Columbia, KY

  • Three Grandchildren: Chase Kriz, Camron Kriz and Connor Kriz

  • Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by one sister: Betty Sue Goodin Newton on December 3, 2004.

He was retired from General Electric in Louisville, KY after 36 years of service in retiring in 2000.

Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association and maybe made at the Funeral Home.Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, Columbia, KY, in charge of arrangments.
