Mr. Wendell Otis Young, 72, of Greensburg, Kentucky, departed this life on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.

The funeral services for Mr. Wendell Otis Young will be conducted at 1pmCT., Monday, October 4, 2010 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Little Barren Cemetery. Bro. Wilburn Bonta and Joseph Wilcoxson will be officiating. Visitation is requested from 4pm-9pmCT, Sunday, October 3, 2010,at the funeral and after 7amCT, Monday until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: Troy Young, Tracy Young, Jeff Ray, Michael Young, Randy Buckner, and Trevor Young. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters.

Mr. Wendell Otis Young, Green Co., KY (1938-2010)

Mr. Wendell Otis Young of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of the late Otis Young and Ivy Clovis Judd Young, was born on Wednesday, July 27, 1938 in Green Co, KY, and departed this life on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Hardin Co., KY. He was 72 years, two months and five days of age.

Survivors include the following:
  • Five children and their spouses: Donna and Mark Faulkner, Jennifer Buckner, Troy and Donna Young, Tracy and Melissa Young all of Greensburg, KY; and Lisa and John Underwood of Campbellsville, KY

  • Five sisters and a brother: Judy Posey, Geraldine Ramsey, Peggy Meadows, Wilma Whitlock and Odell Young all of Greensburg, KY; and Phyllis Bishop of Indiana

  • Eight grandchildren: Jeffrey Ray, Michael Young, Nicole Faulkner, Randy Buckner, Erin Underwood, Sara Young, Trevor Young and Hunter Jones

  • Three great-grandchildren: Devin Ray, Faith Ray and Dolton Young

  • and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Young was also preceded in death by a son: Gary Young; one great-grandchild: Cheyenne Ray; a sister: Bessie Mae Ferguson; and a brother: Leon Young.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Family Burial Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
