Obituary: Beatrice Bray, 88, Adair Co., KY

She was a member of a respected East Adair Co., KY family, a member of the Freedom Separate Baptist Church, and was a homemaker

Beatrice Bray, age 88 years, of the (Freedom Community) in Adair Co., KY passed away Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 2:15pmCT at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, KY after a short illness.

The funeral service wil be Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at 2pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY. Rev. Ronnie Campbell will officate. Interment in the Freedom Cemetery. The family request visitation after 4pmCT on Monday, September 27, 2010 at the funeral home.




Beatrice Bray, Adair Co., KY (1922-2010)

She was the daughter of the late Rubin Howard and Lou Nellie Kerr Carter of Adair Co., KY. She was born , Monday, January 23, 1922, and died September 25, 2010, in Greensburg, Green Co., KY at the age of 88 years, 8 months, and 2 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Elvin Bray on June 16, 1998 She is survived by the following:
  • Three sons: Glendal Bray and wife Mary of Grand Rivers, KY; Charles Bray & wife Darla of Nararre, FL; Eugene Bray and companion Glenna Blackwell of Franklin, IN

  • One brother: Fred Carter of Franklin, IN

  • Ten grandchildren

  • Several great grandchildren

  • And one great great grandchild and a host of other nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by one sister: Bessie Bryant, two brothers Achilles Carter and Clifford Carter.

Mrs. Bray was a member of the Freedom Separate Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
