Obituary: Ernest Taylor, 60, Metcalfe Co., KY

He was a member of a large, respected North Metcalfe Co., KY family. He was a farmer and a member of the Savoyard Baptist Church

Ernest Taylor, age 86 of Savoyard, Metcalfe Co., KY, died Monday, September 13, 2010 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY.

Funeral services will be held 1pmCT, Thursday, September 15, 2010, at Savoyard Baptist Church, 1825 Ratliff Mitchell RD (Metcalfe Co. KY), Horse Cave, KY, with burial in the Buck Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11am-8pmCT, Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East ST, Edmonton, KY, and after 10amCT, Thursday, September 16, 2010, at the church.



He was the son of the late George Wesley and Mary Magdalene Hiser Taylor.He was a farmer and member of the Savoyard Baptist Church.

He is survived by the following:
  • Three children: Bruce Taylor and Lori Houchens of Savoyard, KY; and Wilma Wilson of Hiseville, KY

  • Two brothers: Raymond Taylor of Savoyard, KY, and William Taylor of Knob Lick, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Amy Troyer and Ashley Wilson of Hiseville, KY; and Jeremy and Katelyn Houchens both of Savoyard, KY

  • Five great grandchildren: Dylan, Devan, Cassie, Jaden and Jacob
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Ruby Nell Poynter Taylor; one sister Maybelle Taylor; and three brothers, Leslie, Lewis and Henry Taylor.

Butler Funeral Home, 201 East ST, Edmonton, KY, in charge of arrangements.
