Aluminum screens may thwart grasshoppers B.J. Fudge answers cry for help. Suggests aluminum screens as first line of defense against Grasshopper Plague. About: Oy vey. Grasshoppers attacknew house in greater Fairplay, KY By Billy Joe Fudge Grasshoppers and crickets will eat or attempt to eat just about everything that their little mandibles will cut through. If they can chew it then they assume it is digestible. As a highly developed life form, at least compared to the grasshopper; I've made that mistake a couple of times myself.A simple solution is a trip to the hardware store for aluminum screen. If they start chewing on that then we will have real problems. -Billy Joe Fudge This story was posted on 2010-09-07 08:29:58
