Obituary: Cosby Munday, 85, Adair Co., KY

He was a member of a respected Adair County family. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II and was retired from Ford Motor Co. He was a member of Kellyville Community Church.

Cosby Munday, age 85 years of Columbia, Ky. passed away Friday, September 3, 2010 at 1:12amCT, at Westlake Regional Hospital Emergency Room Columbia, KY.

Funeral services will be Monday, September 6, 2010 at 11amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Stanley Watson and Rev. William R. Davenport, the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty RD, Columbia, KY. He will be accorded full military honors by VFW Post 6097. Visitation is after 3:30pmCT, Sunday, September 5, 2010, at the funeral home.



Cosby Munday, Adair Co., KY (1924-2010)

He was the son of the late Willie Edward and Elmer Dee Moss Munday. He was born on Sunday, November 2, 1924 and died September 3, 2010, in Columbia, Adair Co., KY, at the age of 85 years, 10 months, and 1 days.

He is survived by his wife Lanie Sexton Munday of Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • One daughter: Pam Grasham and husband Gary of Bedford Park, IL

  • One brother: James Donald Munday & wife Jean of Campbellsville, KY

  • Four sisters: Clara Coomer of Evansville, IN; Wynell Coomer and husband Ralph Gerald of Campbellsville, KY; Mary Opal Janes of Fairdale, KY and Nancy Zilphyr Fudge of Bridgeview, IL

  • And host of other relatives and friends
He was preceded in death by one brother: Edward Leroy Munday in 2009.

He attended the Kellyville Community Church, was retired from Ford Motor Company and was a World War II U. S. Navy veteran.
