Obituary: Lula Ester Meeks, 76, Casey Co., KY

She was a member of a large, respected Casey County family. She leaves 22 direct living descendants. She was a member of the Athens Church of Christ and was a homemaker

Lula Ester Meeks, 76, of Chestnut Level Road in Casey Co., KY, died Thursday, September 2, 2010 at Liberty Care Center, in Liberty, KY.

Funeral services will be at 1pmET/12 noonCT, Saturday September 4, 2010, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. 752 Campbellsville ST, Liberty, KY, by Bro. Clifford Dehart. Burial will be at South Fork Cemetery. Visitation is Friday, September 3, 2010, from 6pm-9pmET/5pm-8pmCT, and Saturday, September 4, 2010, until funeral service.



Lula Ester Meeks, Casey Co., KY (1934-2010)

Lula Ester Meeks was the daughter of the late George and Ada Sallee Pevley. She was born in Casey Co., KY on Thursday, May 10, 1934 and died Thursday, September 2, 2010, in Liberty, Casey Co., KY, at the age of 76 years, 3 months, and 23 days.

She was a homemaker and member of the Athens Church of Christ.

She was the widow of Dallas Franklin Meeks.

Survivors include the following:
  • A son: James and (Wanda ) Meeks of Indiana

  • Three daughters: Janie and (Montie) Pendleton of Dunnville, KY; Linda Buis of Liberty, KY; and Joanne and (Thomas) Cropper of Gamaliel, KY

  • Seven grandchildren

  • Eleven great-grandchildren
  • A brother: Jim Pevley of Perryville, KY
In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Gregory Pendleton; two brothers, Joe and Junior Pevley and four sisters, Emma Douglas, Lizzie Buis, Mable Meeks and Susie Pevley.

McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville ST, Liberty, KY, in charge of arrangements.
