Obituary: Mr. Charles Booker Lobb, 82, Greensburg, KY

He was the head of a large, highly regarded Green Co., KY, family. He leaves 59 direct living descendants. He was a self-employed masonry contractor and was a member of the Canmer Independent Church.

Mr. Charles Booker Lobb, 82 of Greensburg, KY departed this life on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at his home.

The funeral services for Mr. Charles Booker Lobb will be conducted at 2pmCT, Sunday, September 5, 2010 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Wilson Cemetery. Bro. Dwayne Lobb and Bro. Stanley Milby will be officiating. Visitation is requested from 4:30 to 9pmCT, Saturday, September 5, 2010, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Sunday until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: Rodney Robertson, Chris Price, Charlie Allend, Marty McNear, Steven Lobb, Kevin Moss, Kellen Lobb, and Jonathan Lobb.

Honorary pallbearers will be grandchilden and great grandchildren: Monty Lobb, David Lobb, Tommy Lobb, James Thomas Lobb, Gary Henderson, Rudolph Strader, Andrew Singh, Joe Hatchett, Timmy Glass, Ashley Shuffet, Mitch Hedge, Doug Hopkins, Dr. Mody, and Ronald Riordan; Ewan Lobb, Billy Joe Dobson, William Strader, Dave Walters, Rob Walley, Lynn Taylor Blakeman, and Jay Damron.

Mr. Charles Booker Lobb, Green Co., KY (1928-2010)

Mr. Charles Booker Lobb of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of the late Elijah Thomas Lobb and Evie Thurman Milby Lobb, was born on Friday, June 1, 1928 in Green Co., KY and departed this life on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at his home in Greensburg, Green Co., KY. He was 82 years, three months and one day of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Canmer Independent Church. He was self-employed concrete worker with Charles Lobb and Sons.

He united in marriage to Lillie Catherine Strader on November 23, 1946 who survives.

Other survivors include the following:
  • His children: Diane and Curtis Robertson of Donansburg, KY; Branda and Jerry Price of Buffalo, KY; Rita and Gus Allen of Summersville, KY; Nancy and Eddie Franklin of Campbellsville, KY; Mike and Amaryllis Lobb of Mt. Sherman, KY; Vickie and Roger Moss of Summersville, KY; Sammy and Sheila Lobb of Summersville, KY; Barry Lobb of Greensburg, KY; and Michelle and Ed Milby of Greensburg, KY

  • A brother: Woodrow Lobb of Greensburg, KY

  • Two sisters: Francis Dobson and Iola Henderson both of Greensburg, KY

  • Twenty-two grandchildren

  • Twenty-six great-grandchildren
  • One great-great grandchild

  • Three step-grandchildren

  • Five step-great grandchildren

  • And a host of other relatives and many friends
Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Central Kentucky, which can be made at the funeral home.

The Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY, in charge of arrangements.
