Obituary: Adell Brown Smith, 99, Russell Springs, KY

She was a member of the Free Union Separate Baptist Church and was a homemaker

Adell Brown Smith, 99, N. Hwy 127, Russell Springs, KY, died Sunday, August 22, 2010, at Westlake Regional Hospital, Columbia, KY.

The funeral service will be at 10amCT, Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at Free Union Separate Baptist Church, 4642 Sano RD, Adair County, KY, with Rev. Randy Brown and Dale Brown officiating. Burial will be in Free Union Cemetery. Visitation will be at Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 Main ST, Russell Springs, KY, after 4pmCT, Tuesday, August 24, 2010, and after 8amCT, Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at the church.



Pallbearers: Dale Brown, Jeff Brown, Tony Hart, Randy Brown, Sonny Henson, and Hershel Reed.

Adell Brown Smith, Russell Springs, KY (1911-2010)

Adell Brown Smith was the daughtger of the late Sara Bell Henson and Joseph Henson. She was born Monday, July 24, 1911, in Casey Co., KY, and died Sunday, August 22, 2010, in Columbia, Adair Co., KY, at the age of 99 years, and 29 days.

She was the widow of the late Elvin Ray Brown and Ota Smith.

She is survived by the following:
  • Two daughters in law: Jean Brown, Jamestown, KY, and Velta Lorene Brown, Russell Springs, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Randy (Janella) Brown, Columbia, KY; Dale (Patti) Brown, Bowling Geen, KY; Glenda Butler, Columbia, KY; Lisa Jo (Tony) Hart, Russell Springs, KY; and Jeffrey Brown, Russell Springs, KY

  • Nine great grandchildren

  • One sister: Hattie Hudson, Liberty, KY
She was a homemaker and a member of the Free Union Separate Baptist Church.

She was also preseded in death by one brother, Preston Henson, and three sisters, Lela patton, Violet Burd, and Jessie Rogers.

Bernard Funeral Home, 367 Main ST, Russell Springs, KY, in charge of arrangements.
