Obituary: Larry G. Gentry 56, formerly of Green Co, KY

He was born in Taylor Co., KY. He was a member of Arcade Baptist Church. He was the manager of Knott's Shoe Store, in Louisville, KY. He was an avid baseball fan and was coach of Little League teams in the Germantown neighborhood for 30 years.

Mr. Larry Gene Gentry, 56, of Louisville, KY formerly of Green Co., KY, departed this life on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at the Parkway Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Louisville, KY. The funeral services for Mr. Larry Gene Gentry will be conducted at 1pmCT, Monday, August 9, 2010 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY with burial to follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Rev. Gary Casey and Rev. Trent Davis will be officiating. Visitation is requested from 2pm-9pmCT, Sunday, August 8, 2010 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Monday, until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: J.P. Gentry, Jordan Gentry, Wayne Stirneman, Jackie Bishop, Joey Bishop, and Ralph Hedgespeth.

Mr. Larry Gene Gentry, Green Co., KY (1953-2010)

Mr. Larry Gene Gentry of Louisville, Kentucky formerly of Green Co, KY, son of Ida Mural French Gentry of Louisville, Kentucky and the late Richard William Gentry, was born on Thursday, December 3, 1953 in Taylor Co., KY, and departed this life on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at the Parkway Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Louisville, Jefferson Co., Kentucky. He was 56 years, 8 months and 2 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Arcade Baptist Church. He was Manager for the Knott's Shoe Store in Louisville, KY. He loved baseball and was the 11-12 year old Germantown Baseball League Coach for 30 plus years.Besides his mother, he is survived by the following:
  • Brother and sister-in-law: Stanley "Stan" and Deborah Gentry of Mt. Sterling, KY

  • Two nephews: J.P. Gentry and Jordan T. Gentry both of Mt. Sterling, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends.
