Obituary: Mr. William Densil Lobb, 86, Green Co., KY

Mr. Lobb had retired as a highly respected masonry contractor. He was a member of the Greensburg Church of the Nazarene. In retirement, he enjoyed buying and selling automobiles, trucks, tractors, and lawn mowers.

Mr. William Densil Lobb, Greensburg, KY, departed this life on Saturday, July 31, 2010 in Greensburg at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital, Greensburg, KY.

The funeral service for Mr. William Densil Lobb will be conducted on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 11amCT, at the Greensburg Church of the Nazarene, 31 Bluebird LN, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Green County Memory Gardens. Rev. Jerod Henry and Rev. Doug Hopkins will be officiating. Visitation for Mr. Lobb will be from 5pm-9pmCT, Friday, August 6, 2010 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY.

Mr. William Densil Lobb, Green Co., KY (1924-2010)

Mr. William Densil Lobb, one of ten children of the late Elijah Thomas and Evie Thurman Milby Lobb, was born on Friday, March 28, 1924 in Green County and departed this life on Saturday, July 31, 2010 in Greensburg, Green Co., KY, at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital. He was 86 years, 4 months and 3 days of age.

Mr. Lobb was a well known retired masonry contractor. After his retirement from this family business, Mr. Lobb enjoyed buying and selling automobiles, trucks, tractors and lawn mowers.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Church of the Nazarene.

He united in marriage on July 30, 1950 to Barbara Joy Root, who preceded him in death on May 6, 2001.

Survivors include the following:
  • Two brothers: Woodrow Lobb and Charles Booker (Lillie Catherine) Lobb Summersville, KY

  • Two sisters: Frances Lobb Dobson of Greensburg, KY and Iola Lobb (Albert) Henderson of Summersville, KY.
  • Three daughters and sons-in-laws: Alison and Dale Emmons of Richmond, KY, Ruthie and Dr. Mike Shuffett of Greensburg, KY and Bonnie and Chris Connolly of Houston, TX.
  • A daughter-in-law: Pamela Lobb of Greensburg, KY
  • Eight grandchildren: Hilary A. Shuffett of Danville, KY, Jessica F. Shuffett of Lexington, KY, Brian M. Shuffett of Lexington, KY, John M. Shuffett of Lexington, KY, James (Jamie) H. Emmons and his wife Kari of Lexington, KY, William (Will) H. Emmons of Providence, RI, William Clell Lobb of Greensburg, KY and William C. Connolly of Huston, TX. Mr. Lobb was affectionately referred to as "Papa Lobb" by his eight grandchildren

  • A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
  • Mr. Lobb was preceded in death by a son: W.D. Lobb on March 25, 2005; his sisters: Della Lobb, Maxine Milby and Lillie Lobb and his brothers: Harold and Cecil Lobb.

    In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greensburg Church of the Nazarene Building Fund, 31 Bluebird Lane, Greensburg, KY 42743-1471 or to the Hospice Compassionate Care Center, 305 Isaacs Drive, Richmond, KY 40475.The Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home
