Obituary: Sally Crabtree, 94 Russell Co., KY

She was the matriarch of a large, respected Russell County family. She leaves 54 direct living descendants.

Sally Crabtree, 94 Brown RD, Jamestown, KY, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at the Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, KY.

The funeral service will be at 2pmCT, Friday, July 9, 2010, at the H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, 202 N. Main ST, Jamestown, KY, with Bro. Scott Eubanks officiating. Visitation will be Friday, June 9, 2010, after 10amCT. Burial will be in Jamestown Cemetery, Jamestown, KY.



Sally Crabtree, Russell Co., KY (1916-2010)

Sally Crabtree was the daughter of the late Preston L. Lawless and Ollie Mae (Marcum) Lawless. She was born Monday, April 10, 1916, in Jamestown, Russell Co., KY, and died Tuesday, July 6, in Russell Springs, Russell Co., KY, at the age of 94 years, 2 months, and 26 days.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by the following:
  • Five sons: Ernie Crabtree, Elizabethtown, KY; Johnny Crabtree, Russell Springs, KY; and Jimmie D. Crabtree, Jack Crabtree, and Marty Crabtree, all of Jamestown, KY

  • Two daughters: Evy Lou Crabtree, Jamestown, KY; and Anita Curry, Campbellsville, KY

  • Twelve grandchildren

  • Thirty-three great grandchildren

  • Two great great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Otha, John P., Charlie, Harem, and Melvin Lawless; and four sisters, Ethel Rednour, Nora Snow, Mary J. Ballenger, and Eve Lawless.

The H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, 202 N. Main ST, Jamestown, KY, in charge of arrangements.
