Obituary: Mary Alice Beck, 73, Taylor Co., KY

She was a member of a large, respected Taylor Co, KY family. She leaves 37 direct living descendants. She was a member of the Beulahland Church

Mary Alice Beck, 73, Campbellsville, KY, died at 8:58pmET, Thursday, July 1, 2010 in Lexington, KY.

Funeral services will be at 5pmET/4pmCT, Sunday, July 4, 2010, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be after 5pmET/4pmCT, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Phillips Cemetery.



Pallbearers: Allen Bates, Jason Byrne, Jacob Poynter Gribbins, Dale Lay, David Lay, Justin Lay, Don Mikel, Jr., and Terry Pitman.

Mary Alice Beck, Taylor Co., KY (1937 - 2010)

Mary Alice Beck of Campbellsville, daughter of the late David Speer and Maggie Larimore Speer, was born in Campbellsville, Taylor Co., KY, June 6, 1937. She died Thursday, July 1, 2010 in Lexington, Fayette Co., KY at the age of 73 years and 25 days.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Beulahland Church.

She united in marriage to Glenn L. Beck March 23, 1955. He preceded her in death February 20, 1997.

Survived by the following:
  • Two sons and three daughters: Vicki Mikel and husband, Don of Clarksville, IN; David Beck and wife, Beverly of Campbellsville, KY; Margaret Lay and husband, Arch of Lancaster, KY; Randall Beck and wife, Lora of Nicholasville, KY; and Christina Gribbins and husband, DeWayne of Campbellsville, KY

  • Fifteen grandchildren

  • Seventeen great grandchildren

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Joey Lewis Poynter Gribbins August 18, 2002.

The Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY, in charge of arrangements.
