Obituary: Mrs. Tillie Thompson Russell, 88, Green Co., KY

Mrs. Tillie Thompson Russell of Green Co., KY, the daughter of the late Bennie Thompson and Clara Jane Simmons Thompson, received her angel wings on June 3, 2010 after living prayerfully and working hard at Fruit of the Loom.

The funeral services for Mrs. Tillie Thompson Russell will be conducted at 4pmCT, Sunday, June 6, 2010 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY,m with burial to follow in the Wilson Cemetery. Bro. Greg Whitlow and Bro. Rod Wally will be officiating.



Pallbearers: William Russell, Matt Russell, Richard Hays, Jim Thompson, Mark Thompson, and John Paul DeSpain. Honorary bearers: J.T. Stearman, W.J. Milby, Bill Whitlow, Timmy Marr, Gene Vaughn, Scotty Milby and Tommy Beams.

Mrs. Tillie Thompson Russell, Green Co., KY

She was born on February 24, 1922 in Green County, Kentucky. She was 88 years of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Summersville Church of the Nazarene.

She was retired from Fruit of the Loom.

She was also a homemaker and farmer.

She united in marriage to Howard Russell on June, 1947 who preceded her in death on January 21, 2003.

Survivors include the following:
  • A daughter and son-in-law: Wanda and Bobby (Robert) Beyer of Louisville, KY

  • Three sons and two daughters-in-law: Terry "Ben" and Beverly Russell, Barry and Debbie Russell, and Gary Dean Russell

  • One son-in-law: Boyce Phillip Milby, Jr.

  • Eleven grandchildren

  • Sixteen great grandchildren

  • A brother: Barney Thompson of Louisville, KY

  • A sister: Regina Calhoun of Henderson, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Meeting her at the gates of heaven was her daughter, Dorothy Louise Milby and two infant babies, Roseline Russell and James H. Russell.

Mrs. Russell was also preceded in death by thirteen brothers and sisters.

The Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY, in charge of arrangments.
