Obituary: Shelby D. Druien, Sr., 77, Taylor Co., KY

He was a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church and was a farmer

Shelby D. Druien, Sr, 77, of Campbellsville died Monday, May 31, 2010 at Grandview Nursing Home after an illness.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10amET/9amCT, Friday, June 4, 2010 at the Lyon DeWitt Funeral Home, 503 E. Main ST, Campbellsville, KY, Bro. Garnett Wayne Davis, officiating. Burial will be in the Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

He was the son of the late Lee Shipp and Ruby Druien Shipp and was adopted and raised by his maternal grandmother, Ida E. Druien. He was married to Ora Mae Cox Druien on August 23, 1952 and she preceded him in death of October 24, 2006. He was a farmer in Taylor County and a member of Good Hope Baptist Church.



He is survived by the following:
  • One son and daughter-in-law: Shelby and Patricia Druien, Jr., Campbellsville, KY

  • Two granddaughters and their spouses: Amanda and Josh Wood, Campbellsville, KY; and Shelia & Kevin Lewis of Springfield, KY

  • Three great grandchildren: Madeline Lewis, Addyson Wood and Jaxton Wood, Campbellsville, KY

  • One sister and brother-in-law: Christine and Charles Ledford, of Campbellsville, KY

  • Three half sisters and their spouses: Wilma and Darrell Blair, of Campbellsville, KY; Jewell and Teddy Blair, Roseline and Carol Mardis of Elizabethtown, KY

  • And a special friend: Lorena Cochran of Campbellsville, KY
Lyon-Dewitt Funeral Home, Campbellsville, KY, in charge of arrangements.
