Obituary: Vernon Larry Smith, 69 Taylor Co., KY

He was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church and was a retired engineer at Fruit of the Loom.

Vernon Larry Smith of Campbellsville, son of the late Vernon Smith and Elizabeth Hopkins Smith Patterson died at 4:17pmET, Friday, May 28, 2010 in Campbellsville. Age: 69The funeral service is at 11amET/10amCT, Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY by Rev. J. Alvin Hardy. Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 3878 Greensburg RD, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Monday, May 31, 2010 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.



Pallbearers: Kyle Martin, Justin Mize, Buzz Rodgers, Cory Smith, and Sean Smith.

Vernon Larry Smith, Taylor Co., KY (1941-2010)

Vernon Larry Smith of Campbellsville, son of the late Vernon Smith and Elizabeth Hopkins Smith Patterson was born March 11, 1941 in Rockingham County, NC. He died at 4:17pmET, Friday, May 28, 2010 in Campbellsville, KY, at the age of 69 years, 2 months, and 17 days.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church.

He was a retired industrial engineer at Fruit of the Loom.

Besides his wife, Arlene Smith of Campbellsville he is survived by the following:
  • Four sons: Steve Smith, Greg Smith, and Shane Smith of North Carolina, and Todd Smith of Virginia

  • Two step-children: Suzanne Wilson and Marvin McCubbin Jr. of Campbellsville, KY

  • Eleven grandchildren

  • Three step-grandchildren

  • One great-grandson

  • Two nephews and one niece, Anthony Gammons, Rene Gammons and Michael Gammons of North Carolina
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Diane Gammons.

The Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY, in charge of arrangements.
