Obituary: Jimmy Phillip Rodgers, 63, Adair Co., KY native

He was a member of a large respected North Adair Co., KY, family. He was retired from Gates Rubber Co., and was employed by the LaRue Co. Road Department at the time of his death. He was a member of Pickett's Chapel United Methodist Church in Adair Co., KY

Jimmy Phillip Rodgers, 63, Sonora, KY, died Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at 2:51am, at the Hardin Memorial Hospital Emergency Room.

Funeral services will be at 11amCT, Thursday, May 27, 2010, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Selby Coomer officiating. Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 3878 Greensburg RD, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be after 4pmCT, Wednesday, May 26, 2010.



Jimmy Phillip Rodgers, 63, Adair Co., KY, native (1947-2010)

A native of Adair County, he was the son of the late Joseph Simpson Rodgers. He was born Monday, February 3, 1947, and died Tuesday, May 25, 2010, in Elizabethtown, Hardin Co., KY, at the age of 63 years, 3 months, and 22 days.He was a member of Pickett's Chapel United Methodist Church in Adair Co., KY.

He was retired from Gates Rubber Co., and was currently employed by the LaRue Co. Road Department in Hodgenville, KY.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Keith Rodgers, Sonora, KY, and the following:
  • His mother: Merle Keltner Rodgers, Columbia, KY

  • Four children: Jimmy Wade Rodgers and wife April, Lexington, KY; Karen Elaine Rodgers Morris, Lexington, KY; Kevin Cox and wife Betty, Elizabethtown, KY; and JoAnn Rodgers Young and husband Kevin, Vine Grove, KY

  • One brother: Danny Joe Rodgers and wife Ruby, Columbia, KY

  • Ten grandchildren

  • Two great grandchildren
Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, is in charge of arrangement.
