He was retired from Parker-Kalon in Campbellsville, KY, and was a member of the Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church

Roy Elwood Porter, 64, of Finley, KY, died at 5:10amET, Monday, May 24, 2010 in Finley, KY.

Funeral services will be at 11amET/10amCT, Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at the Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church, 4430 Highway 289, Lebanon, KY,in the Finley community, by Rev. Vic Stansbury. Burial will be in Benningfield Cemetery, Marion Co., KY. Visitation willl be after 5pmET/4pmCT, Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY, and after 9amET/8amCT, Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at the Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church, Finley, KY.



Roy Elwood Porter (1945 - 2010)

Roy Elwood Porter of Finley, son of the late Roy Porter and Winnie Sanders Porter, was born in Taylor Co., KY, Thursday, November 22, 1945. He died at 5:10amET, Monday, May 24, 2010 in Finley, KY at the age of 64 years, 6 months, and 2 days.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church.

He was a retired employee in the Thread Rolling Department at Parker-Kalon Company.

He united in marriage to Joyce C. Moore January 23, 1965.

Besides his wife, Joyce C. Porter of Finley, KY, he is survived by the following:
  • Two sons and three daughters: Shelia Snow and husband, Travis of Donansburg, KY; Angela Brady and husband, William and Gary Porter of Campbellsville, KY; Dale Porter and wife, Cynthia of Springfield, KY; and Connie Lawson and husband, Mark of Finley, KY

  • Nine grandchildren

  • Special friend, Kaden Sallee

  • Three brothers and one sister: G. W. Porter and wife, Faye of Campbellsville, KY; Sue Sallee and husband, David of Lebanon, KY; Ronald "Sam" Porter and wife, Patricia of Campbellsville, KY; and Randall Porter and wife, Brenda of Finley, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

  • He was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Wooldridge.

    The Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY, in charge of arrangements.
