Obituary: Helen Marie Estes, 73, Louisville, KY

She was a member of a large, respected South Adair Co., KY, family and of Grace Memorial Baptist Church.

Helen Marie Estes age 73 years of Louisville, Ky. passed away Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 12:00 A. M. at the Masonic Home in Louisville, KY.The funeral service Monday, May 3, 2010 at 10amET, at Pearson's Funeral Home, 149 Breckenridge Lane, Louisville, KY, with Rev. Charles Meador officiating. Graveside service Monday at 1pmCT at the Roach Cemetery on Toria Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be at Pearson's Funeral Home from 1 to 7pmET, Sunday, May 2, 2010.



She was the daughter of the late Henry James and Tina Wisdom England. She was born in 1937.

She was the widow of William Wayne Estes who preceded her in death in 2008.

She is survived by the following:
  • One daughter: Michelle Estes Smith and husband Michael of Hanover, MN

  • Three sons: Steve Estes and wife Sara of Nashville, TN; James Estes and wife Camille of Louisville, KY: and Daryl Estes and wife Lori of Georgetown, IN

  • One brother: Willis England of Edmonton, KY

  • Six grandchildren

  • Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends survive
She was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Wilson.

She was a member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer's Association. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of local funeral arrangements
