Russell Co. shows 20% census participation gain in decade

Mail in phase is over. Next the door-to-door head count will begin

Russell Countians showed the greatest gain in mail-in U.S. Census participation, as reported thus far at 6amCT, Monday, April 19, 2010, of any county in the Seven County ColumbiaMagazine area.

In 2000, only 56% of Russell Countians used the mail in form, but in 2010, that number has swelled to 74%, a gain of 18%.

Here's how the gains in the decade looked for all the Seven Counties at 6amCT this morning:
  • Russell Co., KY 56 to 74%, a gain of 18%
  • Cumberland Co., KY, 57% to 71%, a gain of 14%
  • Metcalfe Co., KY, 62% to 76%, a gain of 14%
  • Casey Co.,, KY, 60% to 72%, a gain of 12%
  • Adair Co., KY, 68 to 76%, a gain of 8%
  • Green Co., KY, 75% to 80%, a gain of 5%
  • Taylor Co., KY, 73% to 77%, a gain of 4%
  • State of KY, 70% to 72%, a gain of 2%
  • National, 72% to 69%, a loss of 3%, thus far
