Lindsey Wilson Softball splits at home with Campbellsville

By Dan White
News from Lindsey Wilson College Sports Information

COLUMBIA, KY - Anyibell Ramirez went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, while also pitching a complete game with 13 strikeouts while allowing just two hits to help the Lindsey Wilson College softball team beat Campbellsville (KY) University 7-3 on Tuesday at Lindsey Wilson Park.

Campbellsville fought back to split the doubleheader in game two with an 8-2 win led by third baseman Bailey Dillender who finished 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBIs and three runs scored.

Cassidy Kroeker delivered the complete-game win for the Tigers in game two, striking out three batters while scattering seven Lindsey Wilson hits.

In the Blue Raider win, right fielder Megan Huckaby went 2-for-4 with two runs and shortstop Jamie Williams also went 2-for-4 at the plate with a run scored.

Lindsey Wilson trailed 3-2 heading into the bottom of the fifth inning where they exploded for four runs to take a 6-3 lead that they wouldn't surrender the rest of the way.

While the Blue Raiders failed to send a ball over the fence in the win, second baseman Jordan Gilland and catcher Ally Goniea both doubles, while Huckaby tripled on a ball hit to deep right field.

Campbellsville was the aggressor in game two as it pegged pitcher Morgan Paschall for three runs in the first inning and four in the third to take a commanding 7-1 lead. Lindsey Wilson was only able to muster one more run in their attempt at a comeback.

Left fielder Alexis Rodgers was the only multi-hit performer in the loss, going 2-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base.

Lindsey Wilson softball returns to action at 3pmCT on Thursday, April 15, 2010, at Midway (KY) College. Midway College Main Campus is at 512 E. Stephens St. Midway, KY
