Obituary: James C. Hill, Sr., 78, Jamestown, KY family

Mr. Hill was the head of a large, respected Russell Co., KY family. He was a cabinetmaker by trade

James C. Hill, 78, Crocus RD, Jamestown, KY, died Thursday, April 8, 2010, at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, KY.

The funeral service will be Monday, April 12, 2010, at 1pmCT, at Bernard Funeral Home, 367 Main ST, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Arlus Bradshaw the officiating clergy. Special music will be by Esther Hadley and Shirley Grider. Burial will be in the Hadley Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11amCT, Monday, April 12, 2010.



Pallbearers: Danny Hill, Randy Hill, Levi Hill, Chris Hill,, Dylan Hill, and Quintaen Wood.

James C. Hill, Russell Co., KY (1932-2010)

James C. Hill was the son of the late Adell Mae Lawless Hill and Thomas Hill, Sr. He was born in Russell County Kentucky on Monday, January 18, 1932 and died in Lexington, Fayette Co., KY, on thursday, April 8, 2010, at the age of 78 years, 2 months, and 21 days.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Rose Hill, Russell Springs, KY, and the following:
  • Seven children: Steven Wayne Hill, James C. Hill, Jr.; Roger Hill, Gary Hill, Patricia Woods, and Carolyn Parnell, all of Indiana; and Tammy Watts, Oklahoma

  • Several grandchildren and eight great grandchildren

  • Three brothers: William Hill and Thomas Arvil Hill, Jr., both of Jamestown, KY; and Ewell Hill, Russell Springs, KY

  • Three sisters: Edna York and Eva Bunch, both of Jamestown, KY; and Shelby Jean Holiness, Fairdale, KY
Mr. Hill was a cabinet maker by trade.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Ann Hill; five brothers, Clifton Hill, Jesse Clyde Hill, Albert Hill, Odell Hill, and Roy Hill, and by one sister, Barbara Jean Hill.

Bernard Funeral Home, Russell Springs, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
