Obituary: Charlie L. Carmicle, 82, Casey Co., KY native

Mr. Carmicle was the head of a large, respected family. He was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church and was a brick mason by trade

Charlie L. Carmicle, 82, Danville, KY, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at the Danville Center for Health and Rehabilitation, Danville, KY.

The funeral service is Saturday, March 27, 2010, at 1pmET/Noon CT, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville ST, Liberty, KY with Bro. Gary Story and Bro. Ernie Carmicle officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, with the grandsons as pallbearers and granddaughters as honorary pallbearers.



Charlie L. Carmicle, 82, Casey Co., KY, native (1928-2010)

Charlie L. Carmicle was the son of the late Lucy Ellen Phelps and Charlie Chane Carmicle. He was born in Casey County Kentucky on Saturday, March 10, 1928, and died in Danville, Boyle Co., KY, on Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at the age of 82 years, 0 months, and 14 days.

He was a member of the Liberty United Methodist Church and was a brick mason.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Zachary Carmicle.

Survivors included the following:
  • Two daughters: Pat Charles, Frankfort, KY; and Tina Jones, Stanford, KY

  • Four sons: Ernie Carmicle, Barbourville, KY; Phillip Carmicle, Danville, KY; and Jeff and Barry Carmicle, both of Stanford, KY

  • Sixteen grandchildren

  • Twelve great grandchildren

  • One brother: Glendell Carmicle, Glasgow, KY

  • Two sisters: Jeanette Rice, Liberty, KY; and Virginia Ann Petraska of Michigan
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Alice Zachary Carmicle, two grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, one brother, Fred Carmicle; and one sister, Virginia Abigail Carmicle.

McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, Liberty, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
