Obituary: Sybil Hodges Milby Russell, 91, Greensburg, KY

She was a former schoolteacher in the Green Co. School System and was a farmer. She was a member of a large, respected Green Co., KY, family. She leaves 44 direct living descendants. She was a member of the Summersville, KY, Church of the Nazarene.

Sybil Hodges Milby Russell, age 91 of Greensburg, KY, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2010, at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY.

The funeral service for Mrs. Sybil Hodges Milby Russell will be conducted at 1pmCT, Sunday, March 14, 2010, at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY. Visitation from 4pm to 9pmCT, Saturday, March 13, 2009, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 a.m. Sunday until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers are H.W. Marr, Eddie Wood Milby, Chad Milby, Bumper Milby, Jason Russell, Chris Russell, Russell Smith, Marcus Bradbury, Mason Bradbury, and Myron Bradbury. Honorary are Lea Ann Milby, Rebecca Williams, Terri Russell Loutfi, Monica Russell, Anessa Childress, Elaina Smith, Marti Elizabeth Bradbury.

Sybil Hodges Milby Russell was born on Friday, April 19, 1918, and died March 7, 2010, in Elizabethtown, Hardin Co., KY at the age of 91 years, 10 months, and 16 days.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Summersville Church of the Nazarene. She was a former teacher for the Green County School System, a farmer and a homemaker.

She is survived by the following:
  • Five daughters and two sons and their spouses: Peggy Sue Russell Marr of Elizabethtown, KY; Joyce M. Russell and Jack Haberkorn of Bowling Green, KY; Roy Woodson and Lucy Rey Russell of Arizona; Mary A. Morris Milby, Summersville, KY; James Terry KY; Audrey Russell of Summersville, KY; Sarah Elizabeth Smith of Greensburg, KY; and Linda Lee and Tommy Bradbury of Elizabethtown, KY

  • Two sisters: Prudence Russell of Buffalo and Faynell Graham, both of Hodgenville, KY

  • Seventeen grandchildren

  • Eighteen great-grandchildren

  • And two great-great grandchildren
The Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
