She was a homemaker and a member of Coffey's Chapel United Methodist

Laura Johnson, 78, Hwy 1729, Russell Springs, KY, died Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Russell Co. Hospital in Russell Springs, KY.

The funeral will be Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at 10amCT, at Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Rev. Laura Harris officiating and special music by Jimmy Roy. Burial will be in Johnson Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Monday, March 8, 2010, at the funeral home.



Laura Johnson, Russell Co., KY (1931-2010)

Laura Johnson was the daughter of the late Zola Ann Hughes Brown and Ira Charles Brown. She was born in Catoosa, TN, on Wednesday, June 17, 1931 and died in Russell Springs, Russell Co., KY on Monday, March 6, 2010, at the age of 78 years, 8 months, and 19 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Vaughn Johnson, on April 17, 1989.She is survived by the following:
  • Four children: Donita (Terry) Lawless, Jamestown; and Karen (Stan) Hislope, Michelle (Mike Stearns, and Barren (Lisa) Johnson, all of Russell Springs, KY.

  • One brother: Clayton Brown, Harriman, TN

  • Two sisters: Katie Hiedel and Bernice Hennessee, both of Wartburg, TN

  • Eight grandchildren

  • Five great grandchildren
She was a member of Coffey's Chapel United Methodist Church and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Doyle, Olen, and C.L. Brown.

Bernard Funeral Home, Russell Springs, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
