Obituary: Preston T. Henson, Sr., 84, Dunnville, KY

Mr. Henson was a veteran of World War II, a member of the Green River Valley Separate Baptist Church, and a farmer. He was a member of a respected Casey Co., KY family

Preston T. Henson, Sr., 84, died Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at his home in Dunnville, Casey Co., KY. The funeral service will be at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville ST, Liberty, KY, at 1pmET/Noon CT, Saturday, March 6, 2010, with Bro. Casey Davis the officiating clergy. Visitation will be Friday, March 5, 2010, from 5:30pmET/4:30pmCT until 9pmET/8pmCT. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery.

Preston T. Henson, Sr., Casey Co., KY was the son of the late Sarah Isabell Bell and Joseph Franklin Henson. He was born Saturday, November 7, 1925, in Casey County, KY, and died Wednesday, March 3, 2010, in Liberty, Casey Co., KY, at the age of 84 years, 3 months, and 24 days.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel Helm Henson, and the following:
  • A son: Sonny and his wife Amy Henson, Dunnville, KY

  • A daughter: Joberta and her husband Hershel Reed, Stanford, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Joey, Hope, and Brian Henson; Kevin Lee and Pam Dyer

  • Four great grandchildren

  • Two sisters: Adell Smith, Columbia, KY, and Hattie Hudson, Liberty, KY
He was preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren, Rhonda Gail Henson and Edwin Kevin Reed; a brother, Edward Henson; and three sisters, Jessie Rodgers, Violet Vaughn, and Lela Patten.

McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, Liberty, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
