Obituary: Maedell Whitlock, 71, Adair Co., KY native

Maedell Wilson Whitlock was a native of Adair County and will be returned to her earthly resting place here. She was a devout Christian and prayer partner and a member of Grace Baptist Church in Somerset, KY. She will be greatly missed by the many she babysat and mentored throughout her life

Maedell Whitlock, 71, Somerset, KY, passed away Friday, February 26, 2010, at home with her family by her side.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at 1pmET/Noon CT, at the Grace Baptist Church, 120 Losey ST,, Somerset, KY, with Bro. Bill Haynes officiating. Burial will follow in the Columbia Cemetery, 315 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY. The family of Mrs. Maedell Whitlock will receive friends after 11amET/10amCT, at the church until time for the service.



Maedell Whitlock, Adair Co., KY native (1938-2010)

Maedell Wilson Whitlock was the daughter of the late Lorena Cole Wilson and Garlon Wilson. She was born in Adair County, KY, on Tuesday, August 9, 1938, and died Friday, February 26, 2010, in Somerset, Pulaski Co., KY, at the age of 71 years, 6 months, and 17 days.

She was a member of Grace Baptist Church and was a devout Christian and prayer partner.

She is survived by her devoted husband, John Whitlock, and the following:
  • Her three children: Robin Wilson, Roger (and Glenda) Whitlock, and Lori (and Claude) Hoffman
  • Her five grandchildren, to whom she was Nana: Emily, Christina, and Andrew Wilson; and Benjamin and Nicholas Hoffman

  • Her remaining siblings, including: Vonnie Page and Don (Glenn) and Sharon Wilson of Somerset, KY; And other siblings, including Maureen Dudley, Ormal (and Mary) Wilson, Woodrow (and Pat) Wilson, and Wallace (and Carolyn) Wilson
A sister, Joan England, preceded her in death.

She will also be greatly missed by many whom she babysat and mentored throughout her life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy be sent to International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, ifc.org, 30 North LaSalle, Suite 2600, Chicago, IL 60602. Contribution envelopes will be available at the church.

Pulaski Funeral home is honored to be in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Maedell Whitlock.
