Obituary: Fern Johnson, 67 Casey Co., KY

She was a member of a large, respected Casey County family, and was a farmer

Fern Johnson, 67, Yosemite, KY, died Thursday, February 25, 2010, at St. Joseph's East Hospital in Lexington, KY.

The funeral service will be Monday, March 1, 2010, at 1pmET/Noon CT, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, 142 KY 49, Liberty KY, with Alice Colliins and Bro. Bearl King the officiating clergy. Burial will be in Dogwood Gap Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6pmET/5pmCT to 9pmET/8pmCT, at the funeral home.



Pallbearers will be Gred Kidd, Tony Overstreet, William Phelps, Shawn Coffman, Jasper Rodgers, and Conley Gooch. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Pemberton, Jordan Burton, and Darrell Kidd, Jr.


Fern Johnson, 67, Casey County, KY (1942-2010)

Fern Johnson was the child of the late Russell Johnson and Laura Bell Stafford Johnson, and was born Thursday October 30, 1942, and died Thursday, February 25, 2010, in Lexington, Fayette Co., KY, at the age of 67 years, 3 months, and 27 days. She was a farmer.Survivors include the following:
  • Two daughters: Lorene Hall, Waynesburg, KY, and Sandy Pemberton, Hustonville, KY

  • One son: Eugene Downs, Russell Springs, KY

  • Seven grandchildren

  • Eighteen great grandchildren

  • Three brothers: Estill Johnson, Liberty, KY; and Gerald and Jimmy Johnson, both of Indiana

  • Two sisters: Judy Daniels, Liberty, KY; and Deloris Johnson, Indiana

  • And her former husband: Eugene Propes
Bartle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
