Obituary: Kathryn Gilpin, 73, Casey Co., KY

She was a former state government employee and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Liberty, KY

Kathryn Gilpin, 73, Liberty, KY, died Tuesday, February 9, 2010, at Ephraim MCDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, KY.

Funeral services will be at 1pmET/12noonCT, Friday, February 12, 2010, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, 142 KY 49, Liberty, KY, with Rev. Homer Hecht officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation is after 5pmET/4pm Thursday, February 11, 2010, and after 8amET/7amCT, Friday, February 12, 2010.



Pallbearers are Gary Herron, Billy and Gerry Gilpin, Michael Porter, Travis Dudley, and Gleason Dudley.

Kathryn Atwood Gilpin, Casey Co., KY (1936-2010)

Kathryn Atwood Gilpin was the daughter of the late Marie Taylor Phillips and Lafe Atwood. She was born Tuesday, June 2, 1936, in Casey Co., KY, and died Tuesday, February 9, 2010, in Danville, Boyle Co., KY, at the age of 73 years, 8 months, and 7 days.

She was a retired state government employee and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, William T. (Bill) Gilpin, and the following:
  • One son: Stuart Clements, Liberty, KY

  • One daughter: Melissa Dudley, Liberty, KY

  • One stepson: Jonathan Gilpin, Lexington, KY.

  • Two grandchildren: Grace Clements and Molly Dudley

  • One step grandchild: Clara Gilpin

  • and One sister: Mable Porter, Russell Springs, KY
Bartle Funeral Home, Liberty, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
