Obituary: Segal Morgan, 82, Casey Co., KY

Mr. Morgan was a member of a large, respected Casey Co. family. He was a farmer and a member of the Yosemite Baptist Church

Segal Morgan, 82, Middleburg, KY died Monday, February 8, 2010 at Ephraim McDowell Medical Center, Danville, KY.

The funeral service will be Friday, February 12, 2010, at 2pmET/1pmCT at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville ST, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Kevin Pttman officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, February 11, 2010, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Willow Springs Cemetery.



Pallbearers will be Josh Emerson, Craig Delk, Bruce Smith, Chris Morgan, Randy Morgan, and Ryan Wheat.

Segal Morgan, Casey Co., KY (1927-2010)

Segal Morgan was born Friday, August 12, 1927, in Casey Co., KY. He was the son of the late Lonzo Morgan and Sarah Bastin. He died Monday, February 8, 2010, in Danville, Boyle Co., KY, at the age of 82 years, 5 months, and 27 days.

Mr. Morgan was a member of the Yosemite Baptist Church. He was a farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Liza Mae Wheat Morgan, Yosemite, KY, and the following:
  • Three daughters: Betty Smith, Hustonville, KY; Connie Delk, Middleburg, KY, and Sandra Carman, Kings Mountain, KY

  • A son: James Segal Morgan, Middleburg, KY

  • Three step-children: Ricky Simpson, Yosemite, KY; Wanda Simpson, Middleburg, KY; and Loretta Lynn, Liberty, KY

  • Nine grandchildren, two step grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and one step great grandchild

  • One brother: Tommy Morgan, Liberty, KY

  • One sister: Geneva Dalton, Middleburg, KY
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lillian Hoskins Morgan; his parents, three great grandchildren; and seven siblings, Paul Morgan, Earnest Morgan, Nellie McAninch, Mary Pondere, Junior Morgan, Reed Morgan, and Leonard Morgan.

McKinney Brown Funeral Home, Liberty, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
