Obituary: Joe Wheet, 61, Columbia, KY

Mr. Wheet was a member of a respected East Adair County family. He was involved in farming and was retired from IMO Pump Division.

Joe Wheet, 61 of Wheet Road, Columbia, Ky. passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2010, at the Westlake Regional Hospital Emergency Room, in Columbia, KY.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 9, 2010, at 1pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty RD, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 4pmCT, Monday, February 8, 2010, at the funeral home.

Joe Wheet, Adair Co., KY (1948-2010)

Joe Wheet was born on Wednesday, May 19, 1948 in Adair County, KY to Ebline Young Wheet and the late Simpson Wheet, and died Saturday, February 6, 2010, in Columbia, Adair Co., KY, at the age of 61 years, 8 months, and 18 days.

He was involved in farming for many years in Adair County and was retired from IMO Pump Division.Survivors include the following:
  • One son: Chad Wheet of Columbia, KY

  • His mother: Ebline Wheet of Columbia, KY

  • Two brothers: Arlin Wheet and his wife Pat of Columbia, KY and Nelry Wheet of Franklin, IN

  • One sister: Patricia Wheeler of Columbia, KY

  • One granddaughter: Bryleigh Wheet of Columbia, KY

  • Special uncle: Bobby Creal Wheet of Columbia, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
