Obituary: Mildred Combest Thomas, 76, Adair Co., KY

She was a homemaker, and was retired from the printing industry and worked for Thomas Photography for several years. She was a member of the Adair Chapter of the Eastern Star #435

Mildred Thomas, 76, Adair Ave. Columbia, KY passed away Sunday, January 17, 2010 at 12:30pmCT at the Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia, KY, after several months illness.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at 2pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1275 Liberty RD, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 10amCT, Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at the funeral home.



Mildred Combest Thomas, Adair Co., KY (1933-2010)

She was the daughter of the late Will and Carrie Holmes Combest. She was born Sunday, February 25, 1933, in Adair Co. KY, and died Sunday, January 17, 2010, in Columbia, KY, at the age of 76 years, 10 months, and 22 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Thomas on June 21, 2006.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Louise Rogers.

Survived by the following:
  • Two sons: Jeff Thomas and wife:, Valerie, Columbia, KY; andGreg Thomas, all of Columbia, KY

  • Two brothers: Joe Ed Combest, Glasgow, KY; and Billy Combest of Edinburg, IN

  • Five sisters: Edna Young of IN; Gladys Murrell of Columbia, KY, Helen Simpson of Glasgow, KY, Bessie Willis, Columbia, KY; and Betty Logsdon, Columbia, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Kristi Irvin and husband, Marty and David Thomas

  • Two great grandchildren: Madison Irvin and Braxton Irvin
Mrs. Thomas was a homemaker. She was retired from the printing industry and worked for Thomas Photography for several years. She was a member of the Adair Chapter of Order of Eastern Star # 435.
