Willard Corbin, 65, Breeding, Adair Co., KY, native

Mr. Corbin was a truck driver for over 24 years

Mr. Willard Corbin, age 65, of Glasgow Road, Burkesville passed away Tuesday January 12, 2010 at the Cumberland County Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Corbin will be conducted Friday January 15, 2010 at 2pmCT in The Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 North Main ST, in Burkesville, KY, with Rev. Carlos H. Coop officiating. Burial will be in the Grider Memorial Cemetery. Visitation is after 2pm on Thursday January 14, 2010 until the funeral hour on Friday.



Pallbearers will be Mark Colter, Jimmy Evans, Jamie England, Kevin Hammer, Jason Thompson and Paul Turner, Honorary Pallbearers will be Tyler Gilbert, Bradley Gilbert, Trevor Corbin, Jerrod Turner, Nick Cash, Paul Young, Coty Cash and Lynnie Gilbert.

Willard Corbin, native of Breeding, Adair Co., KY (1944-2010)

He was born on Wednesday, June 28, 1944, in the Breeding Community of Adair County, KY, and died Tuesday, January 12, 2010, in Burkesville, KY, at the age of 65 years, 6 months, and 15 days. The son of Harold and Malinda Anderson Corbin.

He was a Truck Driver for over 24 years for The Roy Anderson Lumber Co. in Tompkinsville, KY.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, James "Tootsie" Corbin and Edward Corbin.He is survived by his wife Thelma Jean Staley Corbin whom he married March 14, 1965, and the following:
  • His children: Johnny (and Lisa A.) Corbin, Tommy (and Lisa G.) Corbin and Patricia Gilbert all of Burkesville, KY

  • His brothers: Murrell Corbin of Glasgow, KY; Manuel Corbin of Somerset, KY, Glen Corbin of Center, KY, and Junior Corbin of Glasgow, KY

  • Sisters: Anna Vibbert of Burkesville, KY; and Lorene Smith of Albany, KY,

  • His granddaughters: Betsy Lauderdale, Courtney Corbin, Grandsons, Tyler Gilbert, Bradley Gilbert, Andrew Harris and Trevor Corbin

  • Great granddaughter: Ariel Lauderdale

  • Step grandsons: Nick Cash, Coty Cash, Paul Young and Jerrod Turner

  • Step granddaughters: Angela Young, Samantha Copas, April Spears and Erica Turner

  • Step great granddaughters, Zoey Myers, Savannah Beaty, Hailey Cash, Hannah Cash and Jaden Corbin
  • Step great grandson: Nathaniel Beaty
