Obituary: Jerry Allen Padgett, 65, Adair Co., KY

Mr. Padgett was the head of a large Northeast Adair County family. He leaves 37 living direct descendants. He was a timber cutter

Jerry Allen Padgett age 65 years of 11000 Liberty Road, Columbia, Ky. passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 9:05amCT, at Westlake Regional Hospital Emergency Room in Columbia, KY.

The funeral service will be Friday, January 15, 2010 at 1pmCT. at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY with Rev. J. Richard Lehman and Bro. Ralph Foster the officiating clergy. Interment in New Hope Cemetery, 131 New Hope Church RD, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 12 noon CT, Friday, January 15, 2010.



Jerry Allen Padgett, Adair Co., KY (1944-2010)

He was born Wednesday, February 2, 1944, and died, Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at the age of 65 years, 11 months, and 11 days.

He was the son of the late Charlie and Gladys Kerns Padgett.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Roberts Padgett, of Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • Four sons: Ricky Padgett, Columbia, KY; Jeff Padgett, Russell Springs, KY; Jerry Lynn Padgett, Columbia, KY, and Larry Joe Padgett of Columbia, KY

  • One daughter: Sue McQueary, Russell Springs, KY

  • Two sisters: Corrine Allen and Marlene Allen, both of Indianapolis, IN

  • Twenty-three grandchildren

  • Nine great grandchildren

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Anita Parker, on July 9, 2006,

Mr. Padgett was a timber cutter.
