Obituary: Lottie Stalcup Watson, 87, Cumberland Co., KY

She was a member of The Church of Christ at Hickory Grove and a seamstress

Mrs. Lottie Lee Stalcup Watson, age 87, of Burkesville, KY, passed away Sunday January 10, 2010, at The Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, KY.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Watson will be conducted on Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at 11amCT, in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N. Main ST, Burkesville, KY, with Bro. Lanny Smith officiating. Congregational singing will be led by Bro. Mark Brewington. Burial will be in The Stalcup Cemetery at Kettle, KY. Pallbearers will be Kenny Brown, Daryl Hopper, Tom Wilkinson, Mark Brewington, Jerry Davis, Jonathan Collins, Gary Long and James Long. Visitation will be after 4pmCT, on Tuesday January 12, 2010, until the funeral hour on Wednesday.



Mrs. Lottie Lee Stalcup Watson, 87, Cumberland Co., KY (1923-2010)

She was born on Wednesday January 3, 1923 in Cumberland County, KY, and died January 10, 2010 in Burkesville, KY, at the age of 87 years, and 7 days.

She was the daughter of Carvin and Dora Anderson Stalcup. She was a faithful member of The Church of Christ meeting at Hickory Grove and a seamstress.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carson Lee "Red" Watson, her brothers, Bill, Van Shirley and Bobby Stalcup, and her sisters, Essie Cary and Evelyn Cary.

She is survived by the following:
  • Her son, Tommy (and Nancy) Watson of Kettle, KY

  • Her daughter: Mary Watson of Sparta, TN

  • Her brother: Lyle Stalcup of Burkesville, KY

  • Her sisters: Norma Long, Dimple Sharp, Ruth Graves and Betty Wisdom all of Burkesville, KY; and Nina McIver of Albany, KY

  • Her grandchildren: Beth (and Robert) Dishman, Brad (and Summer) Watson, Shannon (and Holly) Key, Toni Brown and Austin Gongaware

  • Her great grandchildren: William Blaine Watson, Cameron Bailey, Brynn Livia Watson, Peyton Wayne Key and Lillian Grace Dishman
