Obituary: Corinne Kemp, 89, Adair Co., KY

She was a member of a prominent West Adair County family and was a member of the Jones Chapel United Methodist Church

Corinne Kemp, 89, of the Gradyville community of Adair County, died Friday, January 8, 2010, at 10:24pmCT, at the Golden Ages Retirement Home in Columbia, KY.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at 1pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, with the Rev. Mike Moon officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, 174 Milltown Church RD, Columbia, KY. Visitiation will be after 4pmCT, Monday, January 11, 2010, at the funeral home.



She was a daughter of the late Porter and Leo Corbin Hamlett. She was born March 14, 1920, and died January 8, 2010, at the age of 89 years, 9 months, and 25 days.

She was the widow of Ralph Kemp and was a member of the Jones Chapel United Methodist Church. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, preceded in death by a grandson Gregory Wayne Kemp, January, 1971.

Survivors include the following:
  • One son: Wayne Kemp, Gradyville, KY

  • One grandson: Brian Kemp, Gradyville, KY

  • One great-grandson: Colton Kemp

  • One brother: Russell Hamlett, Mt. Washington, KY

  • Three sisters: Pauline Rogers, Louise Hill, and Norma Jean Parnell, all of Columbia, KY

  • Several nieces, nephews, and friends
