Obituary: Lee Roy Bennett, 64, Adair County, KY

Lee Roy Bennett, age 64 years of 261 Campton School Road, Greensburg, KY formerly of Adair County, KY, passed away Monday, January 4, 2010 at the Green Hill Manor Nursing Home in Greensburg, KY after several years of illness.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 11amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Tim Shirley the officiating clergy. Interment will be in the Bryant Cemetery on Hatcher-White Road, Columbia, KY. The family requests visiting after 4:30pmCT, on Tuesday, January 5, 2009 at the funeral home.



Lee Roy Bennett, native of Cumberland Co., KY (1945-2010)

Lee Roy Bennett was born October 19, 1945, in Cumberland Co., KY. He was the son of the late Lenney and Nora Bell Turner Bennett of Adair Co. KY. He died Monday, January 4, 2010, at the age of 64 years, 2 months, and 16 days.

He is survived by the following:
  • Six brothers: James Bennett of Edmonton, KY; Joseph Bennett of Anderson, IN; Elbert Bennett of Campbellsville, KY; Willard Bennett of Greensburg, KY; Edwin Bennett of Greensburg, KY; Cornell Bennett of Louisville, KY

  • Three sisters: Dorothy Haley of Bowling Green, KY; Betsy Cole of Campbellsville, KY; and Mary Huckaby of Campbellsville, KY

  • And by numerous nieces, nephews and friends
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Raymond Bennett and Junior Bennett, and by one infant sister, Lizzie May Bennett.

Lee Roy was a farmer and laborer.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Lee Roy Bennett family funeral fund and may be left at the funeral home.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
