Obituary: Catherine Wheeler, 68, Taylor Co., KY

She was a member of Millers Chapel United Methodist Church and was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville, KY.

Catherine Wheeler, 68, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 9amET, Thursday, December 31, 2009 in Campbellsville, KY.

Funeral services will be at 11amET/10amCT, Monday, January 4, 2010 at theParrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. Don Gowin and Rev. Jimmie Knifley. Visitation will be after 5pmET/4pmCT, Sunday, January 3, 2010 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home. Burial will be in Green River Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery.



Pallbearers are Lee Akridge, Desten Smith, Timmy Smith, Woody Weatherford, Bob Williams, and Roger Wilson. Honorary pallbearers are Clyde Akridge, Glenn Cundiff, Clay Rogers, Tony Stubbs, and Everett Wilson.

Catherine Wheeler, Taylor Co., KY (1941-2009)

Catherine Wheeler of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late John O. Smith, Sr. and Lucy Mitchell Smith, was born April 7, 1941, in Taylor County, KY. She died at 9amET, Thursday, December 31, 2009 in Campbellsville, KY, at the age of 68 years, 8 months, and 24 days.

She professed faith in Christ and attended Millers Chapel United Methodist Church.

She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville, KY.

She united in marriage to Jimmy Wheeler April 28, 1962.

Besides her husband, Jimmy Wheeler of Campbellsville, KY, she is survived by the following:
  • One son and one daughter: Greg Wheeler and wife, Stephanie of Lexington, KY; and Stacey Greenawalt and husband, Geoff of Frankfort, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Drew Greenawalt and Sarah Greenawalt of Frankfort and Bradley Wheeler and Bryan Wheeler of Lexington, KY

  • Two brothers and one sister: Harold Smith and wife, Winona of Campbellsville, KY; David Smith and wife, Kay of Richmond, KY; and Marianne Markert and husband, Bill of Shelbyville, KY

  • And several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Owsley Smith, Jr. December 26, 1989.Send a condolence to the family of Catherine Wheeler
