Obituary: Hallie Ratcliff, 80, Taylor Co., KY

She was the head of a large, respected family, whose living descendants number 57. She was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom and was a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Hallie Ratcliff, 80, of Campbellsville, KY died at 4:50amCT, Tuesday, December 29, 2009, in Campbellsville, KY

The funeral services will be at 11amET/10amCT, Thursday, December 31, 2009, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY, by Dr. James Jones. Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 3878 Greensburg RD, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation is after 5pmET/4pmCT, at the funeral home.



Hallie Ratcliff, 80, Taylor Co., KY (1929-2009)

Hallie Ratcliff of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Robert Earl Rash and Nancy E. Hardwick Cox, was born in Casey Co., KY, February 25, 1929. She died at 4:50amET, Tuesday, December 29, 2009, in Campbellsville, KY, at the age of 80, 10 months, and 6 days.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for many years.

She was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville, KY.

She is survived by the following:
  • Five sons and one daughter: Don Cox and wife, Margaret, Bobby Cox and wife, Evelyn, James O'Neil Cox and George Alfred Ratcliff, Jr. all of Campbellsville, KY and Gay Reed and husband, Charles of Lexington, KY; and Paul W. Cox and wife, Cedell of Shepherdsville, KY

  • Step-mother: Sue Rash of Cincinnati, OH

  • Six brothers and eight sisters: Barbara Bryant, Geraldine Parrish and Wendell Cox of Campbellsville, KY; Goldie Smith of Mannsville, KY; Keith Cox of Casey Creek, KY; Brenda Ramsey of Lenoir City, TN; David Rash of Lewisburg, TN; Thelma Boren of Finley, OH; Kim Mieners, Rosella Solinsky, Paulette Clemmer, Jesse Rash and Douglas Rash of Cincinnati, OH; and Timothy Rash of Union City, IN

  • Fifteen grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Ricky Dean Cox, brother, Mitchell Cox, sister, Jo Osborne, and step-father, Johnnie Cox.
