Obituary: Jewell Neagle Beard, 82, Green Co., KY

She was a member of the Liletown United Methodist Church and a former teacher's aide for the Green County Board of education

Mrs. Jewell Neagle Beard, 82, Greensburg, KY, departed this life on Friday, December 18, 2009 at the T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY.

The funeral services for Mrs. Jewell Neagle Beard will be conducted at 2pmCT, Sunday, December 20, 2009 ,at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Liletown Cemetery in Green Co., KY. Rev. Gary Hardin and Joseph Wilcoxson will be officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8pmCT, Saturday, December 19, 2009 at the funeral home and after 7amCT, Sunday until time of the funeral service



Pallbearers: Chris Thompson Todd Beard Sherman Shirley, Jeremy Thompson Bobby J. Beard and Billy J. Beard. Honorary pallbearers are Ricky Atwell Curtis G. Atwell Jimmy Wilcoxson Alan Froggett Bendal Bagby Greg Eastham, Brandon Bagby Phillip Jeffries, and Sammy Froggett.

Mrs. Jewell Neagle Beard, Green Co., KY (1927-2009)

Mrs. Jewell Neagle Beard, daughter of the late Brown Neagle and Valley Shirrell Neagle, was born on February 15, 1927 in Green County, Kentucky and departed this life on Friday, December 18, 2009 at the T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, Kentucky. She was 82 years, 10 months and three days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Liletown United Methodist Church. She was also a former Teacher's Aide for the Green County Board of Education.

She united in marriage to Orville S. "Johnny" Beard on January 26, 1946 who preceded her in death on November 26, 2006.

Survivors include the following:
  • A son and daughter-in-law: Larry and Kathy Beard of Edmonton, KY

  • Two daughters and sons-in-law: Barbara and Phillip Thompson of Glasgow, KY, and Oletia Carol and Charles Carter of Louisville, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Chris Thompson of Edmonton, KY; Todd Beard of Bowling Green, KY; Stephanie Shirley of Glasgow, KY; and Jeremy Thompson of Center, KY

  • Two great-grand: Ashton Thompson and Natalie Shirley

  • Four step-great grandchildren: Marika Byrd, Halee Mosby, Latasha Mosby and Gretchen Mosby

  • And a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Beard was also preceded in death by a grandson: Conrad Carter.

Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
