Obituary: Lou Magdalene Richardson Smith, 71

She was a member of a large, respected South Metcalfe County family

Lou Magdalene Richardson Smith, age 71 of Glasgow, KY, died Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY.

Funeral services will be held 1pmCT, Monday, December 21, 2009 at the Summer Shade Missionary Baptist Church with burial in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:30pm until 8pmCT, Sunday, December 20, 2009, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton and after 10amCT, Monday, December 21, 2009, at the church.



She was the daughter of the late Otis and Nettie Barlow.
She is survived by the following:
  • One daughter, Vickie Carter and companion Jeff Shirley of Edmonton, KY

  • Four sons: Randy Richardson of Glasgow, KY; Terry and wife Renee Richardson of Edmonton, KY; James Garland (Dwiddle) and wife Tammy Twyman of Summer Shade, KY; Gary Wayne Richardson and companion Stacy Poteet of Horse Cave, KY

  • One sister: Joyce and husband Robert Driver of Glasgow, KY

  • Four brothers: Billy and JD Barlow of Summer Shade, KY; Fred and wife Patty Barlow of Eighty Eight, KY; Leroyce and wife Linda Barlow of Edmonton, KY; Tim Barlow and companion Denise Scott of Edmonton, KY

  • A sister in law: Murrell Crenshaw of Knob Lick, KY

  • Eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands. Willie Lee Twyman, Jessie (Putt) Richardson and Robert Lewis Smith. A son Gregory Lynn Richardson. A brother Ollie Franklin.
