She was a member of Mt. Salem Baptist Church

Ora Alcorn, 97, Hustonville, KY, died Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at the Chrleston Health Care Center.

The funeral service is 11amET/10amCT, Friday, December 18, 2009, at Bartle Funeral Home, 221 Lynn ST, Middleburg, KY, withburial in Grove Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5pmET-8pmET, Thursday, at the funeral home in Middleburg, KY.



Ora Alcorn, Casey Co., KY (1912-2009)

She was born July 19, 1912, in Lincoln Co., KY, the son of George Sims (deceased) and Vivian Carman Sims (deceased) and died December 15, 2009, at the age of 97 years, 4 months, and 26 days.

She was a member of the Mt. Salem Baptist Church and a housewife.

Mrs. Alcorn was the widow of william ALonzo Alcorn.

Survivors include the following:
  • Four Daughters: Joesephine Delk of Hustonville, KY; Pauline Smith of McKinney, KY; Wanda Toliver, Columbus, OH; and Christine Wallace of Cincinnati, OH

  • Six grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, adn 10 great-great-grandchildren

  • Four brothers: Manford Sims, Mckinney, KY; Lloyd Sims, Cincinnati, OH; Earl Sims, Mason, OH; and Leamon Sims, Angel Ridge, OH

  • One sister: Essie Wilson, Mason, OH
She was preceded in death by one son, George Alcorn; two grandchildren, one sister, Jewell Smith; and two brothers, Russell and Lester Sims.
