Obituary: Billy Floyd, 64, Campbellsville, KY

He was a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and of the American Legion Edwards O'Banion Post #82. He was an employee of Overhead Door for some 32 years

Billy Floyd, 64, Campbellsville, KY, died Saturday, November 21, 2009, in Campbellsville, KY.

The funeral service will be at 11amET/10amCT, Monday, November 23, 2009, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. J. Alvin Hardy. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, West Main ST, Campbellsville, with full military honors by Marion County Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation is after 5pmET/4pmCT, Sunday, November 22, 2009.



Pallbearers are Jerry Auberry, Gary Cox, Allen Crabtree, Troy Gibson, Todd Gowin, Paul Hood, Timmy Myers, Charlie Sallee, Bobby Baker, Robert Bryant, Phil Davis, Matt Grant, Donnie Gray, Robbie Hayes, Terry Hughes, Danny Kemp, Garnett Mardis, Billy Myers, Jerry Myers, Aaron Rakes, Vernal Rakes, Philip Thompson, Cleve Wheatley, Brad Wise, and Chris Wright.

Billy Floyd, Taylor Co., KY (1945-2009)

Billy Floyd of Campbellsville, son of the late Lyman Floyd and Magline Edwards Floyd was born in Green County, Kentucky, October 25, 1945. He died at 4:15 A.M., Saturday, November 21, 2009, in Campbellsville, at the age of 64 years, and 27 days.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served his country honorably in the United States Army and attaining the rank of Sergeant.

He was an avid member of the American Legion Edwards O'Banion Post #82.

He had been an employee at Overhead Door Co. for some thirty-two years.

He united in marriage to Brenda Davis June 29, 1968.

Besides his wife, Brenda Floyd, he is survived by the following:
  • One son and one daughter and spouses: Greg and Tiffany Floyd and Deana and Timmy Willis of Campbellsville, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Tate Floyd, Katie Floyd, Carson Floyd, Ashley Willis, and Bradley Willis of Campbellsville, KY

  • One brother and four sisters: Larry Floyd, Linda Barnett, and Patsy Cowherd of Campbellsville, KY: Sue Patterson of Greensburg, KY and Lisa Petty of Columbia, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
