Obituary: Corey Lee Spears, 19, Green Co., KY

He was a young father and a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church, whose life was cut short as the result of an automobile accident. He was a cook at Phillips' Lanes Restaurant in Campbellsville and was a BMX biking enthusiast

The funeral services for Mr. Corey Lee Spears, 19, will be conducted at 12 Noon CT, Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home. 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY with burial to follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Dr. Gary Ervin will be officiating. Visitation is requested from 1pm to 9pmCT, Tuesday, September 22, 2009, at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Wednesday, September 23, 2009 until time of the funeral service.



Corey Lee Spears, 19, Greensburg, KY (October 7, 1989 - September 21, 2009)

Mr. Corey Lee Spears of Greensburg, KY, son of Johnny Lee Spears, Jr. of Burkesville, KY and Misty Dawn Cox Wilson of Greensburg, was born on October 7, 1989, in Lexington, KY and departed this life on Monday, September 21, 2009 in Greensburg due to an automobile accident. He was 19 years, 11 months and 14 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was also a cook for the Phillip's Lane Restaurant in Campbellsville and in his spare time he loved BMX biking.

Other survivors include the following:
  • A son: Kayden B. Spears of Campbellsville, KY

  • His grandparents: Rosa Patterson of Greensburg, KY, Brad Cox of Greensburg, KY; Gayle Spears Hall of Burkesville, KY; and Johnny Lee Spears of Cumberland Co., KY;
  • His fiance': Amanda Rachelle Copley, Greensburg, KY

  • Three brothers: Jon Cody Spears, Brandon Wilson, and Dustin Posey all of Greensburg, KY

  • Two sisters: Jasmine Spears of Cave City, KY; and Kiley Witley of Burkesville, KY

  • And aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends
Pallbearers, expressions of sympathy

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the family burial fund, which can be made at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Bill Phelps, Dustin Jones, Lucas Patterson, Cody Spears, Shane Patterson, Steven Bishop, and Todd Franklin.

Honorary pallbearers are Johnny Patterson, Brandon Wilson, Dustin Posey, Terry Harris, Joe Spears, Alyssa Patterson, George Green, and Javen Cave.
