Mr. Tarter was the patriarch of a large Adair County family. He leaves 45 living descendants

The funeral for Edwin "Tootie" Tarter, 80, Columbia, KY, will be aat 11:00amCT, Tuesday, September 22, 2009, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, with burial to follow in Columbia Cemetery, 315 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 5:00pmCT, Monday, September 21, 2009.



Edwin "Tootie" Tarter, 80, Adair Co., KY (April 8, 1929 - September 19, 2009)

Edwin "Tootie" Tarter, was born April 8, 1929 and died September 19, 2009, at the age of 80 years, 5 months, and 11 days.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ella Tarter, his wife, Fannie taylor Tarter, and two children, David Tarter and Linda Ford.

He is survived by the following:
  • Four sons: Charles and his wife Kathy and Danny and Andy Tarter, all of Columbia, KY and Terry Tarter, Bowling Green, KY

  • Four daughters: Carolyn, Rose, Dakota, and Peggy Tarter, all of Columbia, KY

  • Fifteen grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren
