Obituary: Jane Salato, 84, Columbia, KY

Mrs. Salato was a member of a highly respected Columbia family. She was the widow of Dr. James C. Salato and was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church

Jane W. Salato, 84, Columbia, KY, died Sunday, March 8, 2009, at 3:10amCT, at Summit Manor Health & Rehab.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at 2:00pm, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY with Bro. Raymond Martin officiating. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home after 10:00amCT, Tuesday, March 10, 2009.



She was born in Clinton, KY, the daughter of the late Iva D. and Lota Nelms Worrell and was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Salato, in 1990.

She is survived by the following:
  • Her children: Mike and his wife Sue Salato, Nashville, TN; Carol and her husband Barry Myers, Campbellsville, KY; and Nancy and her husband Mark Humphrey, Nashville, TN

  • Six grandchildren: Susan Sherrard and Russ and his wife Amy VanZant, Elizabethtown, KY; Jay Salato, Kate, Jenny, and Ellen Humphrey, Nashville, TN

  • Two step-grandsons: Chad and his wife Jenny Myers, Columbia, KY; and Josh and his wife Audrey Myers, Campbellsville, KY

  • Four great-grandchildren: Jakob and Reece Sherrard; Davis and Clark VanZant

  • Four step great grandchildren: Will, Abby, Lillie, and Molly Myers
Memorials are suggested to either the Adair County Public Library or Summit Manor Health & Rehab Activity Fund. These may be left at the funeral home.
