Obituary: Cheryl Wilson Chism, 48

Mrs. Chism was a prominent Metcalfe County businesswoman who owned and operated the widely-known Bel-Air Restaurant in Edmonton, KY. Burial will be at Shirley-Dickson Cemetery in Adair Co., KY

Cheryl Wilson Chism, 48, Edmonton, KY, died Wednesday, February 18, 2009, at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pmCT, Saturday, February 21, 2008, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East ST, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Shirley-Dickson Cemetery on Prices Creek Road in Adair County, KY. Visitation will be from 2:00pm until 8:00pm Friday, February 20, 2009, and after 9:00amCT, Saturday, February 21 at the funeral home.



She was the daughter of Coy Wilson of Edmonton, KY, and the late Virginia England Wilson.

She, along with her family, owned and operated Bel Air Restaurant in Edmonton. She was a 1978 graduate of Metcalfe County High School and was a member of Penicks Chapel United Baptist Church.

Besides her father, she is survived by her husband, Kenny Chism of Edmonton, KY, and the following:
  • One daughter: Jonie (Jeremy) Billingsley, Glasgow, KY

  • One sister: Darlene (Daniel) Brennan and their daughter, Katie, Slidell, Louisiana

  • Two step children: Amie (Ivan) Craddock, Glasgow, KY; and Christopher (Stephanie) Chism, Tompkinsville, KY

  • Two step grandchildren: Briana Perkins and Chloe Chism
Besides her mother, she was preceded in death by one brother, Gary Wilson.
