Obituary: Verlon Ray Jolly, 87

Mr. Jolly was a member of a respected Metcalfe County family. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a retired farmer

Verlon Ray Jolly, 87, Edmonton, KY, died February 17, 2009, at Edmonton, KY.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00amCT, Thursday, February 19, 2009, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton, KY, with burial in New Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00pmCT to 8:00pmCT, Wednesday, February 18, 2009, at the funeral home.



He was the son of the late Millard and Eva Lee Coffey Jolly.

He was a retired farmer and a U.S. Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Iva Dell Hurt Jolly.

He is survived by the following:
  • One sister: Marie Neal, Edmonton, KY

  • His caregiver: Buffy Jessie and family of Edmonton, KY
  • BR>
  • Several nieces and nephews
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother, Kathleen Janes, Rutnene Wilson, June Fields, and James Herbert Jolly.

Butler Funeral Home, Edmonton, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
