Obituary: Herman Jessee, 93

Mr. Jessee was the head of a large, respected Metcalfe County family. He leaves 39 living descendants. He was a farmer and a member of the Mosby Ridge Presbyterian Church

Herman Jessee, 93, Edmonton, KY, died Thursday, September 25, 2008, at the Metcalfe Health Care Center in Edmonton.

He was the son of the late James Elmore and Lou Clara Jessee.



Mr. Jessee was a retired farmer and a member of the Mosby Ridge Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services were held Sunday, September 28, 2008, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton, with burial in the Metcalfe County Memorial Gardens.

He is survived by his wife, Mattie Frances Romines Jessee, Edmonton, KY, and the following:
  • Three sons: Wayne (Viola) Jessee, Columbia, KY; Edward (Ima) Jessee, Edmonton, KY; and James (Vickie) Jessee, Gradyville, KY

  • Two daughters: Linda (Austin) Bragg, Edmonton, KY; Connie (Danny) Phelps of Edmonton, KY

  • Eight grandchildren: Steve Bragg, Charlotte Young, Jonathan Jessee, Jessica Phelps, Chasity Janes, Brittany Jessee, Tommy Franklin, and Sheila Franklin

  • And 20 great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters and one granddaughter, Sharon.

Butler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
