Carlos Russell Ballou, 80, World War II veteran

Mr. Ballou was a member of a prominent, respected Adair County family. He was a farmer, a member of the Columbia First Church of the Nazarene, and had served in World War II
Carlos Russell Ballou, 80, a resident of Summit Manor Nursing Home Columbia, Ky. passed away Saturday, April 14, 2007, at 12:30am CT at the nursing home.

The funeral service will be Monday, April 16, 2007 at 1:00pm CT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Scott Ezell the officiating clergy.



He was born March 15, 1927, the son of the late William Murray and Mattie Florence Garrison Ballou.

Survived by his wife, Wynema Wanda Stephens Ballou, Columbia, KY, and he following:
  • Two brothers: Kenneth Ballou, Burkesville, KY, Wayne Ballou, Columbia, KY

  • Two sisters: Lila Wolfe of Fort Collins, CO, and Margie Anderson, Weatherford, TX

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
He was preceded in death by the following brothers: Estel Ballou, James E. Ballou, Virgil Ballou, Almon Ballou, Randall Lamarr Ballou; and two sisters, Eris Ehling and Faylene McGaha.

Mr. Ballou attended the Columbia First Church of the Nazarene. He was a farmer and a veteran of World War II.

Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, Liberty Road, Columbia, KY.

Visitation after 4:30pm, Sunday, April 15, 2007, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
